Domiciliary Care Assistant

Crestwood Care Limited is seeking compassionate, reliable and professional Domiciliary Care Assistants to support individuals in their own homes across London. The role involves travelling between service users’ homes and delivering care that reflects each person’s assessed needs, preferences and agreed care plan. Support may include personal care, medication assistance, meal preparation, mobility support, companionship, light household duties and help with everyday activities. You will be expected to promote independence, protect dignity, maintain accurate records and report any concerns promptly. You must treat every individual with respect and work in accordance with safeguarding requirements, confidentiality standards and organisational procedures.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide person-centred care and support in service users’ homes.
  • Assist with personal care while maintaining dignity and privacy.
  • Support individuals with washing, dressing, grooming and toileting where required.
  • Assist with mobility, transfers and safe movement.
  • Support medication in accordance with care plans, training and company procedures.
  • Prepare meals and drinks based on individual needs and preferences.
  • Provide companionship and emotional reassurance.
  • Support individuals with shopping, appointments and community activities where agreed.
  • Complete accurate and timely care records.
  • Observe and report changes in health, behaviour or wellbeing.
  • Follow safeguarding, infection-control and health-and-safety procedures.
  • Respect confidentiality, personal choice, culture and beliefs.
  • Communicate professionally with service users, families, colleagues and healthcare professionals.
  • Travel between scheduled care visits and arrive punctually.
  • Attend required training, supervision and team meetings.

Desirable criteria

  • Previous experience in domiciliary care, home care or a similar support role.
  • Care Certificate or relevant health and social care qualification.
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care.
  • Experience supporting older people, adults with disabilities or people with long-term health conditions.
  • Medication-administration training.
  • Moving-and-handling training.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle.
